** NOTE: Unlike Wild Planet Adventures, most other companies include the Pacuare and Reventizon rivers for their rafting segments. These are excellent for Class IV paddling, but with over 500 people a week running each of these rivers, there is a high likelyhood that you would be launched along with 10-30 other rafts that day, making it less than ideal for our unique wildlife focus

Our "Ultimate Wildlife" itinerary includes the Sarapiqui river(upper and lower segments) and the Puerto Viejo rivers. Both of these rivers bisect remote sections of La Selva Biological Preserve in Barullio Carillo National Park. Very few people run this lush stretch of the Puerto Viejo river; we have rarely --if ever--  seen other paddlers there. The lower stretch of Sarapiqui also has wonderful birdwatching along its gallery forest, and a minimal amount of other paddlers. This makes these rivers ideal for our clients, who would rather go "off the beaten path" and appreciate our dedication to intimate encounters with wildlife in their natural habitat!
