Wildlife of Coiba Island

Wildlife on the Island:

36 species of mammals
147 species of birds, including the only population of Scarlet Macaws in Panama.

Wildlife in the Ocean:

white tip reef sharks,
manta rays,
eagle rays
schools of surgeon-, butterfly- and angel fish, barracudas, Pacific spade fish, jacks and tunas.
Humpback whales (July to September) sperm and pilot whales, orcas,
dolphins,
tiger-, bull- and hammerhead sharks,
whale sharks are also possible at certain times.
