Ko Tarutao Island Beaches & Snorkeling

Enjoy Thai food and massage after your day exploring the crystal clear turquoise waters and coral reef.Tarutao National Park consists of 7 of the most beautiful islands in the straits of Malacca in the Indian Ocean. Ko Tarutao is the largest island in the with area 151 sqkm of 11 km. wide and 24 km. length. The other islands are Ko Adang, Ko Rawi, Ko Lipe (Nipis), Ko Dong (Budang), Ko Lek (Bisi) and Ko Klang (Tengah). Tarutao National Park boasts some of the best snorkeling in all of Thailand due to its remote location. Ko Tarutao features waterfalls, streams, beaches, and caves. Protected dolphins, lobsters, and dugongs reside in the crystal-clear turquoise waters, and wildlife such as mousedeer, wild pigs, fishing cats and crab-eating macaque on the islands themselves. Sea turtles such as the Pacific ridley, hawksbill, green and leatherback, come up to the pristine beaches of these islands lay their eggs in the months of September and April. Excellent snorkeling can be found amongst the well-protected coral reefs at the northwestern part of Ko Tarutao at Pha Papinyong (Papillon Cliffs), at Ao San, and in the channel between Ko Tarutao and Ko Takiang (Ko Lela) off the northeastern shore.
