Our guides have been specially chosen both for their personality and interpersonal skills as well as their extensive naturalist knowledge and exceptional abilities to spot wildlife.

Jose Sanchez

Sea Kayaking Guide/Instructor & Whale Watching Guide
Jose is a native of the Yucatan peninsula and has a degree in marine biology. He enjoys sharing his vast knowledge of the whales, birds and flora and fauna of Baja. He guides our sea kayaking expeditions in the Sea of Cortez and has been a naturalist at our whale watching camps since 1993. Jose is also a certified Wilderness First Responder and has been an instructor for the RARE program, which is a guide training program for Mexicans in rural areas to teach them the benefits of eco-tourism as another way of life and source of income.
 

Alex Romero

Whale Watching Camp Manager & Sea Kayaking Guide/Instructor
Alex is a La Paz native and grew up fishing with his family. He is a Baja Kayak Association instructor which certifies sea kayaking guides. Alex has worked for us since 1991 in our sea kayaking program as well as whale watching camps. He has an intense enthusiasm for Baja and is proud of his home land and loves to share his knowledge of the area. Alex is the camp manager of our San Ignacio Whale Watching Camp and is a certified Wilderness First Responder. Alex was also the first American Canoe Association -certified kayaking instructor in Baja.
