Tanzania Lodging

-KILIMANJARO

Karama Lodge

Nestled in the lush gardens and natural beauty of Suye Hill National Park, 10 minutes from the center of Arusha, Karama Lodge & Spa is the ideal home base for Tanzania safaris. Twenty-two stilted log cabins offer comfortable en-suite accommodation with a natural design – an excellent combination of unique comfort and style. Constructed with local materials, the cabins allow close proximity to the surrounding forest flora and fauna. Each cabin has its own wooden balcony with comfortable chairs where you can relax and admire the spectacular views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, the Maasai steppes beyond, and the surrounding lush vegetation and birdlife.

Karama also practices eco-friendly conservation in their daily operations, with the pool being kept free of chemicals, using natural salts for cleaning and the gardeners gather brush and fallen branches daily from the hillside to use in heating the water for the cabins and other building at Karama. Clean burning propane is also used as a backup for heating.

- TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Nasikia Ndovu Camp

Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge is located in the heart of Tarangire, Tanzania’s wild land and landscapes. Tarangire is famed for its massive elephant herds, true sense of wilderness and a gentle backdrop of baobabs. It is the lesser visited but more intriguing park on the northern circuit. At Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge, we have 12 permanent tents made up of ten standard suites, and 2 x two bed room inter-connected family suites.

The camp is open all year around and especially during the dry months, the massive elephant herds travel through the corridor between Manyara and Tarangire and spend their time in and around the park. This is because of their ability to uncover permanent sources of fresh water. We endeavour to retain the uniqueness and intimacy of the camp, while being directed by the location, wildlife and other factors of responsible tourism.

- NORTHERN SERENGETI / MARA RIVER

Mara Kati Kati Camp

Mara Kati Kati is a mobile camp strategically situated in north Serengeti, ideal for exploring the Mara Ecosystem. The camp offers comfortable accommodation together with the unique opportunity to enjoy a real safari experience on a camp. In its comfortable tents one will feel completely immersed in the surroundings and one can enjoy the rich animal life and vegetation of the area.

An original form of accommodation which resembles the old camps of the first explorers in Africa, with all the commodities of today.

The camp has been designed to cause a minimum impact on the environment. All of the infrastructure is mobile and the philosophy of the company is not to leave anything behind.

The tents are situated at ground level with a private porch. They overlook the savannah. Ample and comfortable. There is a choice of a double bed or two twin beds. The rooms have a bathroom with a bucket shower. The family tent consists of two interconnected tents and a shared bathroom and private porch.
