It can take us up to 5 years to scout a destination and develop one of our our exclusive itineraries. We don't repackage other company's trips. Wildlife expert Josh Cohen, Wild Planet's founder, scouts each destination extensively to determine the best activities to take advantage of local wildlife activity patterns and behaviors, best times of day for wildlife viewing, and best methods that will result in the highest possible volume of wildlife sightings, as well as the best chances of rare and endangered animal sightings. Special arrangements are then made in order to place travelers at the right place, at the right time. This is what we mean by "going the extra mile" to put you in front of the most wildlife possible! Below are a selection of our newest itineraries. These are still tested itineraries - we usually run exploratories and custom trips prior to offering scheduled departures to any destination.

This introduction to Glacier Bay starts with a floatplane to Admiralty or Chichagof Islands for Alaska’s best Grizzly bear viewing. Then enjoy a 120-mile boat trip amongst glaciers and whales in the awe-inspiring Glacier Bay National Park, one of the most stunning places on earth. Raft the wildlife rich Chikat river amidst the largest gathering of bald eagles in the world. Explore the incredible wildlife of the Lutak Inlet and the Chilkoot River Valley, and paddle Chilkoot lake.
