Tanzania Lodging

Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge

Set in lush gardens amid forest and crystal-clear waters on the slopes of Mount Meru, Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge is a wonderful place to relax and simmer in the immense beauty of East Africa. Just 30 minutes from Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha town center, Ngare Sero is the ideal location to spend the day amid nature, watching the changing colors of the Kilimanjaro glaciers while sipping drinks on the verandah.

Originally built in 1905, the main house of the lodge still retains many of its original features and ornamental design with long colonial verandas stretching across the front of the house; the perfect spot to sit and watch the lake, monkeys, forest, and enjoy the grandeur of Mount Kilimanjaro. Furnished with stone benches and leather cushions, the lodge provides modern comforts amid antiques commemorating Tanzania’s German colonial past.

Lemala Ngorongoro Camp

Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp is an intimate camp set in a delightful ancient acacia forest on the rim of the crater, next to the quiet Lemala access route. The camp has 9 spacious canvas tents to ensure intimacy and minimal impact on the pristine forest environment. The tents accommodate two queen beds with winter weight duvets and hot water bottles. The tents are warmed in the evenings by a gas heater, ensuring a cosy night's sleep. The roomy en-suite bathrooms contain a dressing area, flush toilet and a large safari shower.

The mess tent is beautifully furnished with grand sofas, lamps, bookshelves and corner cabinets in old wood, chests and rugs. In the evening, guests gather around the campfire to exchange tales of the day's safari followed by a sumptuous hearty meal.

Chaka Camp (Mobile)

As a mobile camp moving seasonally to follow the great migration of wildlife across the Serengeti, “Chaka”, derived from the word “kichaka” meaning “Bush” in Swahili, sets up camp near Lake Ndutu from December – March and near the Mara River from June - November, allowing its guests unparalleled access to some of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth. By operating off-the-grid, Chaka offers an authentic, intimate bush experience in the heart of the Serengeti wilderness; carefully balancing traditional bush camping with the comforts of home, providing: writing bureaus, chairs, toilets, shower, laundry service, power sockets, and solar lighting.

Lemala Kuria Hills

Offering unrivalled luxury, Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is situated in the Wogakurya Hills, close to the Mara River on the Tanzanian side of the border and within the main corridor of the world-famous wildebeest migration. Large boulders and kopjes form the prominent features of the site and each guest tent has been carefully positioned amongst these to ensure privacy and spectacular vistas over the gentle grassed slopes, open woodland and tree lined watercourses, which all make up the scenic north Serengeti landscape.

The Lodge has a clean and contemporary design that remain undeniably African at heart, largely through the warmth and vibrancy of the team that call it home. Magnificent kopjes dominate the public areas, with superb views from the bar, sitting and dining areas, swimming pool and the decks.
